When you don’t have something at the end of the wall to shoot at, 99.9% of the time there is something between you and the end that you can use as a target. 

Remember, a target can be anything solid. Here are a few examples of things located on the side of a house:

• Air conditioning unit
• Electrical box
• Cable box
• Water faucets
• Window sill
• Trees
• Bushes
• Rocks
• Fences

In this example, we’ll use a water faucet as our target.

1)  Standing at one end, aim the laser at the water faucet, take the measurement and press the addition button.

2)  From the other end, aim the laser at the other side of the water faucet, take the measurement, and press the equal button.

What just happened? We took two measurements and the DISTO added them together for us.  Have more than 2 measurements to add? No problem. The DISTO can add as many measurements together as you need.
