What is a DISTO?

The triangulation (also known as the Pythagoras function) allows you to measure a wall by facing it. This feature is handy when there are no targets on or beyond the wall that you’re measuring. You can use the triangulation function with the DISTO A5, A6 and Special.

You can do the triangulation feature one of 2 ways:

2 Point Measurement

Step 1:
Activate the triangulation function

Step 2:
Face one end of the wall that you’re measuring. Aim the laser at the other end and take the measurement.

Step 3:
Aim the laser at the end of the wall in front of you and take the measurement. The DISTO does the geometry for you and displays the measurement instantly!

3 Point Measurement

Step 1:
Activate the triangulation function and face the wall you want to measure. In the 3 point technique, you can face the wall from any position. Aim the laser at one end of the wall (doesn’t matter which) and take the measurement.

Step 2:
Aim the laser at the wall in front of you and take the measurement.

Step 3:
Point the laser at the other end and take the measurement.

Once again, the DISTO does the geometry and you get the measurement in less than a second!
